Before You Start the IELTS Reading Test

• The IELTS Reading test contains 3 sections with a total of 40 questions.
• You will have 60 minutes to complete all sections. There is no extra time at the end.
• Read the questions carefully before reading each passage.
• You may answer questions in any order, but manage your time wisely.

• Answers must be based only on the information given in the passage.
• Spelling and grammar must be correct. Incorrect spelling will be marked wrong.
• Pay attention to word limits such as ‘NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS’.
• Do not spend too long on one question. Move on and return later if needed.
